Fellowship Program

The Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Fellowship program in the Department of Applied Health Science aims to promote graduate training in MCH. The goal of the program is to support students seeking a career in maternal and child health. To qualify for a fellowship, an applicant must be currently enrolled in a graduate degree program at Indiana University Bloomington and have a minimum cumulative graduate GPA of 3.0.

Fellowship Requirements

• Completion of the fall or spring Foundations in Maternal and Child Health course offered at the IU-B School of Public Health.
• Completion of research experience with a poster presentation. This research experience is part of the foundational course and must be with one of the following: the Maternal and Child Health Division of the Indiana Department of Health, March of Dimes, Indiana Department of Health Division on Children with Special Health Care Needs, or the Indiana Black Breastfeeding Coalition (IBBC) to train the MCH leadership workforce.
• Joining and participating in Indiana University Maternal and Child Health Club; and Maternal and Child Health Wellness Working Group meetings or events.
• Fellows are awarded a $1,000 award to be used to provide partial tuition remission for the MCH foundational course. Fellowship applications are due August 1. Submit a personal statement describing career goals and how participation in the MCH program will help you attain such goals. Please send your application to Dr. Cecilia Obeng and Dr. Jon Macy
• Award decisions will be communicated to applicants by August 15.
